The two-day discussions were marked by political and technical sessions with key information and Q&A about subjects falling under the responsibility of ASECAP’s different Permanent Committees (COPERs) affecting infrastructure financing, safe movement and smart mobility.
On the first day of discussions (Tuesday 30 May), the various developments for the decarbonization of transportation, as well as the finance tools for the new mobility needs and trends for the infrustructure of the future, were examined from a truly political angle. Furthermore, during this first day, three policy sessions were dedicated to the state-of-the-art on EETS, the smooth transition to more innovative, safe and efficient ITS solutions and road maintenance in order to provide road infrastructures offering the highest standards of safety.
Two technical sessions and one marketing session mainly shaped the second day (Wednesday 31 May). Experts made presentations on subjects falling under the reduce of CO2 emissions and the safe digitalisation of motorway sector. The marketing session was dedicated to ASECAP members' most innovative marketing activities.
Finally, as a closing session, the EU and the US discussed the current and future key challenges for the toll industry.

Road networks play the leading role in the European mobility over 72% of passengers move by car and 60% of freight is moved by trucks. Therefore, reliability and the quality of the road transport on the main European axis and beyond, is crucial for the European economy and for all European citizens. In a lack of public budget, with the challenges expressed by a strong EU transport policy guidelines and orientations: robust and well maintained road infrastructure, multimodal offers, new mobility trends (car sharing, carpooling, autonomous vehicles) de carbonization of transportation, concession contracts remain powerful tool to policy makers to handle them.
