MCI Brussels is responsible for the registration, the logistical organisation of the event and the social programme.


The Valamar complex is located in Babin Kuk Peninsula, a very pleasant and quiet area 8 km from Dubrovnik's Old Town and most touristic areas.

This complex is formed by 5 hotels (two of them 4 stars – Lacroma and President - and the other three hotels 3 superior stars – Tirena, Argosy and Club) all of them walking distance between each other.

The congress will be held at the Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik Hotel which is the largest conference centre in Dubrovnik and one of the biggest all over Croatia.

The city of Dubrovnik was built on maritime trade. In the Middle Ages, it became the only city-state in the Adriatic to rival Venice. Supported by its wealth and skilled diplomacy, the city achieved a remarkable level of development during the 15thand 16thcenturies.

Furthermore, Dubrovnik was one of the centres of the Croatian language and literature development, home to many notable poets, playwrights, painters, mathematicians, physicists and other scholars.

Today, Dubrovnik is the proudest feather in Croatia's tourist cap, an elite destination and one of the most beautiful towns in the Mediterranean. Dubrovnik used to be an independent republic, surviving mostly on trade. It has managed to survive for many centuries, with constant threats to its territory, particularly from the mighty Ottoman Empire and Venice.

Dubrovnik is steeped in stunning architecture and sculptural detail, and boasts spectacular churches, monasteries, museums, and fountains.

The 41stASECAP Study and Information Days will take place in Dubrovnik from Sunday 26 May to Tuesday 28 May 2013.

The Dubrovnik airport is located about 24 km from the congress venue.

The price for a taxi-ride from the airport to the hotel is between EUR 30.00 and EUR 40.00. Taxis are available on the arrivals level 24h/24h.

"Atlas" travel agency buses are located outside the hotels and they will bring you to the city center. Price 35 kn (EUR 5.00). Once in the city center, you can take a taxi which will bring you to the hotel. Cost of the ride: EUR 7.00


The official languages of the conference are French and English.
The hosts, hotel personnel and congress organizers all have English as their main foreign language.


The weather in May is usually fair with average temperature of approximately 15-22° C. Lower temperatures, rain and wind are also possible.

Clothing and footwear

Casual clothes and sensible shoes are recommended for the excursions. We advise you to have sufficient clothing for the prevailing weather conditions with the necessary outer garments.

Taxes and service charges

In Dubrovnik, prices include taxes and service charges. You may wish to leave a tip if you consider it appropriate.

Opening hours shopping

All the year round, the majority of the shops are open from Monday to Saturday from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. In summer, the majority of the shops are open till 9.00 pm, while the shops in the Old City, particularly souvenir shops, are open till the late night hours.

The majority of the shops are closed on Sundays and on holidays, with the exception of souvenir shops and some other shops in the Old City, which are open on Sundays and on holidays in summer.
